Example 1 — Team A (Underdog)
Stake ৳1,000. All three formats represent the same value: Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150. If Team A wins, total return is ৳2,500 — of which ৳1,500 is profit and ৳1,000 is the original stake returned. If Team A loses, ৳1,000 is lost.
Example 2 — Team B (Favourite)
Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200. A negative American odds figure means how much you need to stake to win ৳100. A ৳1,000 stake returns ৳1,500 — ৳500 profit.
How to read decimal odds quickly
Calculating the return
Stake × decimal odds = total return. ৳1,000 × 2.50 = ৳2,500 total return.
Never below 1.00
Decimal odds are always greater than 1 — 1.50 means 50% profit on your stake, 2.50 means 150% profit.
How to read fractional odds
3/2 means a ৳2 bet returns ৳3 profit. 1/2 means a ৳2 bet returns ৳1 profit.
American plus/minus
+150 means a ৳100 bet returns ৳150 profit; -200 means a ৳200 bet returns ৳100 profit.
Live Betting — Odds Change the Moment a Wicket Falls
In-play or live betting is different from pre-match betting — every wicket, every six, and every over shifts the odds instantly while the match is in progress.
